4. Brief Introduction: Mr. Sharma is a Textile Engineer with Hons. and an MBA. He is presently the Head of Polyester Sector at Reliance Industries. In this role, he oversees the P&L of the Polyester sector, which encompasses three core businesses: Staple, Filament, and PET Bottle-grade. The sector has an annual capacity of around 3.6 million tons. His business drives significant sustainability initiatives across Polyester products and textile value chain. 

He has been with Reliance for over 25 years, in two separate stints. Before returning for his second stint, he was a key member of the steering team responsible for a successful acquisition of a global business, which included manufacturing operations across five locations in the USA and Europe, as well as a global R&D centre in New York state. Mr. Sharma brings over 35 years of professional experience, predominantly in the Polyester and Textile value chain. His career includes 5 years as Managing Director in Europe and 3 years overseeing acquisitions in the USA at a Supervisory level. Throughout his career, he has worked across diverse cultures and ownerships worldwide.
